IHC seeks govt reply on Imran's jail transfer plea
The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday sought a reply from the representatives of the federal and Punjab governments by August 11 on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chief Imran Khan’s plea requesting a transfer from Attock district prison to Rawalpindi's Adiala Jail. During the hearing today, IHC Chief Justice Aamer Farooq remarked that the court will issue an order today regarding the meeting with the former prime minister today. The lawyer representing the incarcerated former premier, Sher Afzal Marwat, informed the court that he went to Attock jail as per the court order a day earlier but he was not allowed to meet his client. Justice Farooq then inquired if the jail has any specified meeting times. To this, the lawyer replied that visitations are allowed till 6pm in the evening.
