Trump blames France unrest on 'mass migration', Islam

US President Donald Trump on Tuesday blamed mass student protests in France on "mass migration" and Islam, pushing his global right-wing narrative ahead of tough midterm elections at home. French students have blocked the entrances to hundreds of high schools across the country since late September to demand better conditions, in protests that have descended into sporadic clashes with security forces. A quarter of a million demonstrators took to the streets across France on Tuesday. "What's happening in France is nothing less than out-of-control mass migration. This isn't about schools, this is about Islam wanting to take over a once great country!" Trump said in a post on Truth Social. Asif blames PTI's TTP policy for worsening K-P security

Defence Minister Khawaja Asif on Monday accused the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) of pursuing negotiations with the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), saying the party’s policy had contributed to the security crisis in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P). In a detailed statement on X, Asif said the issue between the presidency and the K-P government was “not politics but terrorism”, while questioning the provincial government’s handling of police capacity, counterterrorism infrastructure and security funds. He said the PTI had exercised political control or influence in K-P for around 13 years and criticised its leadership for advocating negotiations with the TTP. “Imran Khan has always had a soft corner for TTP, and the party's thinking has been more aligned with the idea of negotiations with terrorists rather than the state's policy of eliminating terrorism,” Asif said. He claimed that after becoming prime minister, Imran had said he knew how ...

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi on Sunday rejected the imposition of governor’s rule or an emergency in the province, saying only the “vision and policy” of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan would be followed in the province. Addressing participants of the long march at Gandi Chowk in Lakki Marwat, the chief minister thanked the participants for their enthusiasm and said the party’s negotiating committee had gone to Islamabad to help reduce the political temperature. He said a “mindset that makes decisions behind closed doors” had been trying to impose another decision on the people of the province. “Here, there is Imran Khan’s government and Imran Khan’s vision and policy will prevail,” Afridi said. He told the participants that the people had voted for a leader and “his player” was standing firm in the field. “We do not accept any policy that causes harm to the Pashtun...
